The journey of Bengtsons Ost began back in the 1950s in a small shop in Lund. In 1951, when the welfare state was flourishing and rock music was beginning to take hold, Inga and Thure Bengtson opened the doors to what is today one of Sweden’s best-known cheese brands. Over the years, their passion for cheese and quality has given us classics such as Herrgård “Bengtsons Special” and Grevé “Bengtsons Grevinna.” And it’s a tradition that lives on today.
From Lund, they expanded to Malmö, Helsingborg, and eventually opened their own dairy in Denmark. Today, Bengtsons Ost has become more than just a cheese shop—it’s a place where history, craftsmanship, and flavor come together. With house-aged cheeses and carefully selected delicacies from all corners of Europe, they treat us to culinary experiences that are not just about buying cheese—but about enjoying something truly delicious.
We love it when cheese is given time to mature. Bengtsons ages its classic hard cheeses for up to three years and is known for producing world-class cheeses. And it’s not just the cheeses that impress—their hand-selected charcuterie and delicacies also provide everything we need to create truly special meals.
