Bootcut, straight, tapered, high-waisted, or low-waisted? There are so many different types of jeans, and it’s not always easy to know which tops go with which pants. Here are some of my favorite jeans—and my tips on how to put together an outfit!
First and foremost: I love jeans! They’re easy to wear with both a really casual look and something more festive. It’s all about how you pair them with other pieces. Don’t be afraid to experiment with different items to find a look you like. But if you need some help, check out a few of my tips below!
The Classic – Regular Straight-Leg
If you’re wearing light stone-washed jeans, my best tip is to throw on a white T-shirt and pair them with your favorite shoes. Before you protest and say that sounds way too casual—just think of
how many people have rocked this style over the years. There’s a reason it’s so popular. As the evening sets in and the temperature drops, just throw on an extra layer on top—these classic jeans look great with just about anything.
Low-waist bootcut
These jeans combine the Wild West with music videos from the early 2000s. The bootcut style lets you wear bigger shoes like boots or Uggs—go for it! The low waist creates a contrast and
brings to mind icons like Britney Spears and other pop stars from the turn of the millennium. With this style of jeans, it’s important to choose a pair that fits really well around the hips. If you feel comfortable, I’d recommend pairing them with a cute crop top.
Full-length flare-
If you feel that bootcut jeans aren’t flared enough—then these are the jeans for you. With a fit that evokes a more vintage look, these pants can be styled with
something a bit more dressy. These jeans have a tighter fit down to the knees, then they flare out nicely. I like to pair these jeans with a pair of heels—or at least shoes with a thicker sole—to really bring out that lovely silhouette. For the top, a shirt or a dressier blouse works perfectly.
