In the first part of “Get Faster in the Kitchen with Joel from Smakrådet,” we’ll learn two simple but truly effective tricks that save both time and mess in the kitchen.
Focusing on two common ingredients—garlic and chili peppers—Joel shows you how to avoid frustration and get the job done in a flash.
Here are the tips you didn't know you needed:
1. Remove all the seeds from the chili quickly and easily
Working with fresh chili can easily turn into a hot mess—literally. But Joel has a trick:
👉 Roll the chili between your hands for about 10–15 seconds, and the seeds inside will come loose
👉 Cut off the end and shake out the seeds
You reduce the strength and avoid having seeds everywhere—smart, fast, and easy.
2. Peel garlic super fast
Peeling each little garlic clove is both time-consuming and messy. Joel’s trick?
👉 Press the whole head of garlic down against the cutting board once
👉 Then put the whole head of garlic in a container and shake for about 10–15 seconds
👉 The skin comes right off—no peeling required
Perfect when you need lots of garlic cloves for a stew, sauce, or marinade.
Save time and enjoy more
The little things make a big difference. With Joel’s tips, you’ll get things moving smoothly in the kitchen—and have more time to enjoy your food.
